User Frustration Signals

Featured Post Image - User Frustration Signals

By collecting, monitoring, and interpreting user data we can proactively see user frustration signals. Some of the signals are:

Rage Clicks: repeated clicking on an element

Error and Dead Clicks: clicks that go nowhere or result in javascript errors

Thrashed Cursor: a rapidly moving cursor could indicate slow site performance or that the user could not complete their action.

Pinch to Zoom: demonstrates poor website design that does not resize for mobile.

Refreshed pages: might signal the user expected a change that didn’t happen.

User Engagement Signals

Scroll Depth: How far down into the article did the user scroll? This could be an indication of interest, and a lack of scroll depth could signal dis-interest.

Highlighted : Which text did the user highlight? Are they comparing something, such as products?

Element Visibility: loading too many helpful elements could actually impede the user. Improve performance.
