The soda bottle I think was a 1 liter or is there a 1.5 liter bottle? You need 2 of them, and cut the bottoms off. The foam came from the fabric store, I had to go to the seat cushion section. Don’t buy foam that is too thick or the lens won’t fit in the case.
Hand stich a zipper around the 2 bottles so you can zip them together.
I have been using this case for YEARS and I can’t believe how well it has held together. When I want to go more lightweight, I put the lens in the case and just pop it in my coat pocket. I’ve also thrown it in my suitcase while travelling. Best of all, it cost hardly anything and I don’t worry about it.
