Vigilant Hose Company 6
The client supplied the logo. Strong images of firefighters are used to provoke emotion on the home page Flash banner coupled with background images of asphalt and smoke. The traditional firehouse red is used, but toned down with the use of gradients and transparent pictures of smoke. They needed a way to showcase the firetruck pictures, as well as publish periodic articles and recent calls of duty.
The content management system is Joomla, which provides a robust back end and is flexible enough to allow the client to publish any article on the home page.
Jamtrak
Jamtrak promotes taking the train with musicians to various places like Jazzfest in New Orleans.
Content management system utilizes Get Simple model which uses XML for content storage. Client accesses the administration panel to manage pages, musicians, and trips.
Video utilizes HTML5 video tag with Flash fall-back, allowing it to play on non flash devices such as iphone and ipad.
USA Equipment Direct
USA Equipment Direct is an ecommerce store that utilizes an OSCommerce shopping cart. It has over 500 products in inventory.
Client accesses the administration panel to manage products, orders, send notices and newsletters, and access reports.
Routine data extracts from the website are used to populate multiple shopping sites, which boosts the visibility of the site, resulting in higher sales.
Zuffy's Place
Zuffy's Place is a restaurant / bar requiring not only a general web presence, but wanted to display a comprehensive menu to showcase the quality of food served. Additionally, Zuffy's is a live music venue that frequently books musicians, and needed a social calendar, as well as the ability to make frequent updates to the site.
The solution was to create a custom design built on a WordPress engine that provides the client an administration panel for changes to daily specials and occasional menu updates.
Owl Years
Owl Years is a one page website that displays 3 video testimonials for Patricia Burns, Personal Historian. A pastel palette of mint and chocolate strews circles strategically across the browser. The main logo image is in an unconventional location, but the weight and density of the large brown circle draws your eye directly in to it. Pull quotes taken from the videos are echoed in complimenting circles as testimonials.
